Washington D.C. – March 16, 2016 – Several hundred farmers and land owners including several from the Upper Peninsula are in Washington D.C. with the Michigan Farm Bureau for three days.
It is the annual Washington Legislative Seminar where all 83 counties of Michigan are represented by caring farmers, land owners, and local Michigan businessmen and women. Farming Issues of needed temporary Labor, Bio food safety and labeling, & Fair Trade are forefront and are being discussed in daily seminars and with legislators.
The Hiawathaland Farm Bureau sent us to this seminar to get closer to the legislative process. So my wife Rita Noordyk and I went to a meet and greet session this evening and I caught up with Representative Daniel J. Benishek. He spoke with several farmers and said he is grateful that he has gotten to know so many Michigan farmers. He reminded folks that we can contact him if we need something.
