NMU Has Announced Their Graduation Speaker
Mrs. Deer- Northern’s Commencement Speaker
Graduation for NMU is going to be May 5th at 10:30 a.m. I will be walking and I am so excited!
Mrs. Ada Deer
The commencement speaker has been chosen, Mrs. Ada Deer. She was the director of the American Indian studies program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also ran for state-wide office in Wisconsin and she was the secretary for Indian affairs at the U.S. Department of Interior.
She has numerous other awards and accomplishments that I think will make her a great person to talk to the new graduates for 2012. Go to NMU’s website to see a complete list of her accomplishments.
With at least 650 of the new gowns sold it is going to be a beautiful site at the Superior Dome; especially knowing that the recycled gowns are better for the environment.
