Ishpeming vs. Negaunee High School Football Night Tonight

Possibly the biggest rivalry ever (well maybe not EVER, but it’s a pretty big rivalry) will be happening tonight as the Negaunee Miners travel up the hill to face the Ishpeming Hematites in Varsity High School Football. Both teams are going into the game undefeated, although Ishpeming is probably favored to win, I think it’s going to be a great game, both teams have a chance at this one. I can’t wait to see it tonight. I am an alumni of the Miners and my cousin, Ryan Syrjala

is the quarterback for the Miners so I will be cheering them on. I root for the Hematites, when they’re not playing the Miners so it’s really exciting to see these two teams face off. My hope is that it is a close game the whole time and the Miners pull it off, but only time will tell.

I have heard rumors flying around that there could be as many as 5,000 people attending the game tonight.. it seems a little far fetched to me, but I’m sure it will be well attended. Come on down and see this game for yourself, but if you absolutely can’t make it you can catch the action on the radio or online at 98.3 WRUP (Ishpeming Broadcasters) and Sunny FM 101.9 (Negaunee Broadcasters) Ishpeming Hematite playgrounds is the place to be, tonight a tailgate will be going on starting at 4:00 PM you can enjoy some fun and pick up some hot dogs and other food, Mike Plourde will be covering the event with live cut-ins on 103-FXD. Then of course, kickoff tonight at 7:00 PM.
