The Exchange Club’s International Food Festival and The Texaco Country Showdown were a Hit in Marquette’s Lower Harbor

Great Lakes Radio’s WFXD hosted the Texaco Country Showdown, which was sponsored by the John Deer Store in Marquette, last night in Marquette’s Lower Harbor.

Our fabulous 8 contestants in front of the John Deer sponsor’s Gator at the Texaco Country Showdown at Marquette’s Lower Harbor during the International Food Fest

We had 8 great contestants who all performed very well and gave it their all for the crowd, that was growing by the minute, and the judges. The audience also got $1000 dollar coupons for the John Deer store!

The weather was beautiful and the talent was high, but the judges choose a winner who seemed very worthy. Jessie McPherson spoke about respecting our troops before he sang an original patriotic song to win the competition.

Great Job Jessie! He will be headed to the Wisconsin State Fair, August 2nd, for the next round of the Texaco Country Showdowns State Finals.

We have one more Texaco Country Showdown in the U.P. on July 21st at The Skandia Days and August 4th at Lyons Field in Marquette.
