Heather on 103.3 WFXD
Hi, I’m Heather. I grew up on a farm in Trenary, Michigan (where the toast comes from). Me and my family raised pigs in 4-H and made hay in the summers. My mom, my sister, and I barrel race horses and enjoy riding together through the summers. I also have an older brother and a younger brother who, along with my dad, are very competitive! I learned how to work hard and earn what I wanted in village of Trenary.
Monday-Friday 7 p.m. – Midnight and Saturday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on 103.3 The Country Extreme
I’m a small town girl who went to your typical small town U.P. high school and graduated in 2008. I played basketball, volleyball, softball, I ran track and cross country, and I played in the band and sang in choir. After graduating, I moved on to NMU to start a degree in Electronic Journalism where I focused on on-air broadcasting and news and magazine writing.
After an internship with Great Lakes Radio I was hired on as part of the team! I graduated from NMU in May with Magna cum laude honors and moved out to Lathrop, which is smaller than Trenary, if that’s possible. I enjoy hunting everything from bears to coyotes with my boyfriend. I have also enjoyed getting back into the sports world with my new career.
I do sideline broadcasts for the Negaunee Miners and the Ishpeming Hematites football games in late summer. In the action is where I love to be. I also do play-by-play broadcasting for Negaunee Miners basketball games (that’s my favorite)! Someday I would love to sideline broadcast for the PBR circuit – Professional Bull Riding!
I am a true Yooper, born and raised here all my life. I enjoy the community, the people, and the feeling of a small town. I also love country, which makes me a perfect fit for The Country Scoop from 7 p.m. – midnight on 103-3 The Country Extreme!
