Toby Keith Lyrics Inspired by Long Lost Friend

Monday All American Morning News with Eric Scott

12/31/2012 (Courtesy TheBoot.com) — Good Morning! Toby Keith‘s latest single, “Hope on the Rocks,” is soaring up the charts. The tune, which is the title track of the country superstar’s latest album, was inspired by a man whose name he doesn’t recall but who left a lasting impression.

“Years ago, the first house I lived in, there was a couple a little bit older than me that were married and lived three houses down,” Toby tells Country Weekly. “They’d work, and on Fridays and Saturdays they’d have a big barbecue and play cards and drink beer. Once in a while, I’d go down there.”
