Marquette Township, Michigan – December 1, 2014 – Santa’s coming to Marquette Township tomorrow night to throw the big switch and light the Township Christmas Tree in the annual Catch the Christmas Spirit Tree Lighting Ceremony.
This year, the Marquette Township Christmas Tree is extra special. The 30-foot Blue Spruce was planted more than 20 years ago by Vietnam Veteran Ken Ceckiewicz. It is the first tree ever donated to the township by a township resident.

The Blue Spruce is now on display in front of the Westwood Mall near the mall sign. This morning, tree was adorned with lights and a brand new star made by Luke Noordyk. Marquette Township’s official Christmas tree will be lit by Santa tomorrow night at the tree lighting ceremony that kicks off at 6 pm.
Come on down to Marquette Township tomorrow and enjoy Christmas Carols sung by the Marquette Redmen Chorale, tractor-drawn hayrides, cookies and juice, and even pictures with Santa Claus himself inside the Westwood Mall. The festivities start at 6 pm in the mall parking lot by Applebee’s.
