Reading up on country music artists and their activities, musicians are an integral part of the industry. The Academy Country Music (ACM) Awards presented studio drummer, Shannon Forrest with the Drummer of the Year Award in 2012. That was the first that I’ve heard of this amazing drummer, who, after reading the list of country artists Shannon recorded for, I dubbed him as Country Music’s Bernard Purdie!! Since 2012, Shannon had been picked up by the rock band, Toto, to play drums for their 35th Anniversary Tour in 2014 for their US dates. Shannon has also had the opportunity to produce some recordings for the legendary Michael McDonald.
Since my 2012 blog on Shannon, I mentioned that the webpage, Drummerworld should look into the drumming career that Shannon has developed for himself. Well, I recently went to Drummerworld’s page to read up on another drummer and discovered that Shannon now has his own page on the website!!!
A website created by Swiss drummer, Bernhard Castiglioni over 15 years ago;his site has a bio, audio and video info collected on 500 drummers! Shannon has found a place among some prestigious drummers in the industry!
