Cutting the Fat – 3 Miles at a Time

Eric Scott.. this was me a few months ago broadcasting from the Marquette County Fair. Since then, I’ve begun a weight loss routine every night.

1/22/2015 Marquette, Michigan — Lisa Ravioli and I have been talking each day in the 4pm hour about how I’ve been taking my evenings out into the sub zero weather and cutting the fat! That’s right, each night I’ve been taking a 3 mile walk in an attempt to get my heart rate going, and to trim a few pounds. The results? Rather surprising, actually. I’m noticing myself waking up less and less in the middle of the night. Where I used to awake at 4am in the morning, I no longer do so. I’m also noticing more energy AND feeling less and less tired.

I’m serious, it’s really working. The cold weather was keeping me indoors over the past few weeks – as I’m sure it’s been doing the same for you as well. Keep in mind that I just began this journey about a week ago. So, when I get off work I make it a top priority to step out into the cold night and go for a 3 mile walk. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend doing this when the temperatures are 10 below zero. It’s actually a personal preference of mine.

So, in the new year I plan to walk 3 miles every night. After a few months I will get back to you and let you know the weight loss results. It’s a little too early in the game to actually have any measurable weight loss results.
