2/16/2015 Negaunee, Michigan — Lisa Ravioli and I were talking about our Valentine’s Day plans from the past weekend on 103-FXD in the 4 o’clock hour today. Lisa ended up heading out to downtown Marquette on Saturday and I hit downtown Negaunee on Saturday. What we both had in common was the blizzard that we both braved on Valentine’s Day. I believe the wind chills on Saturday night hit 35 below zero in downtown Negaunee. Lisa said it was so cold in Marquette that both her dogs refused to go outside and go potty. Now THAT’S FRICKIN’ COLD!
I ended up hitting Jackson’s Pit in downtown Negaunee on Saturday with a few buddies. The food was fantastic! It’s true what they say – Jackson’s Pit is “Where Hematite and Miner Fans Meet!” In our case, 3 of us were Hematites, the other was a Patriot. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a Miner on us. Nonetheless, the food was awesome. I ordered up the JP burger and my buddies ordered the Tilden Kiln burger. I’ll be going back to Jackson’s Pit sometime soon – even if I have to brave 35 below wind chills and a blizzard warning. Downtown Negaunee was HOT on Saturday night!
