Houghton, Michigan – June 23rd, 2015 – I spent some of my weekend in the Copper Country visiting my good buddy in Hancock, Michigan. Bridgefest was happening this past weekend so it was a nice opportunity to join the fun and celebrate the Copper Country’s early fourth of July. There was a parade going on in downtown Houghton, Michigan on Friday night. The festivities continued with Fireworks over the Portage Canal on Saturday night. Seafood, drinks, and good company was all part of the celebration during Bridgefest in the Copper Country over the weekend.
Of course, one of the main reasons I traveled up there was to spend time with my good buddy. We were able to visit our favorite restaurants, take a nice walk around Hancock and Houghton (downtown) and have a few drinks in downtown Hancock as well. It was an awesome weekend! The weather didn’t exactly cooperate, however. The rain came down on Saturday morning which put a damper on some of our plans.
We ate out at The Library on Friday night and had Mexican on Saturday. I rushed back down on Sunday morning to spend Father’s Day with my dad. If you’re ever in Houghton/Hancock during Bridgefest, make sure you take part in it! The Copper Country is almost my second home….
