It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for another awesome day of hunting, fishing, and music on the Outdoor Show, only on 103-FXD! This past weekend was gorgeous and warm, and I hope you had a chance to get out and enjoy it! I got to play some amazing country and bluegrass for you, as well as a true classic called “Highway Patrol” from Junior Brown for today’s Outlaw Cut.
The first guest that I spoke with for today’s Outdoor Reports was Shelly from Straight Line Archery out of Ishpeming, MI. She had some excellent deer bowhunting reports for us today, and she also told us all about which products that she carries have been the most successful for deer hunters in our area. Finally, Shelly gave us an inside look into the new bows that are coming out for hunters in 2016!

On today’s second Outdoor Report, I caught-up with Barry Drews from Bear’s Nine Pines Resort which is located in Marenisco, MI, near the Western end of the U.P. Barry is a huge bear hunter, but today he was on the show to tell me all about how the deer hunting on the Western side of the U.P. has been going so far this season. This unseasonably warm fall weather has been suppressing rut activity, but that means that the hunting on the opening of gun season will be all the better. Bear also had time to tell us about how the new walleye fishing regulations on Lake Gogebic will effect fishermen.
For the Big Boy Sports Recap today, Steve Whelan and I talked about a bunch of sports topics! First and foremost, we talked about the past weekend’s NFL games and our picks for who was going to win. We also talked about some college football, NHL news, and we even talked a little about the MLB!
