I had another awesome day today bringing you all the best country and bluegrass music, live on 103-FXD! Deer gun hunting season is in full swing, and today’s Outdoor Reports were all about deer hunting! My Outlaw Cut of the day was a special dedication of The Highwaymen’s “The Highwayman” which goes out to all the hunters at Camp Hook-a-Horn out of Baraga County!
My first Outdoor Report for today was with John DePuy, a Wildlife Biologist for the MDNR in and around Baraga County. He told us all about how many and what class of deer that he’s been seeing at his deer check station. He’s seen several good deer so far this season, and the body conditions of the deer that he’s checked have been very healthy, most likely thanks to the excellent acorn crop that we had this fall!
I had an awesome second Outdoor Report today with Marquette County hunter Ryan Erickson on a HUMONGOUS 8-point buck that he just harvested! Ryan persevered over the adverse conditions of last year’s snow when he saw the same buck last year, only to harvest the deer this season! He told us how he used trail cam technology to track the buck’s movement, which allowed him to harvest the huge deer.
For today’s Big Boy Sports Recap, I still was having a lot of fun with Steve over the Packers’ loss to the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field this past Sunday. We also discussed Monday night’s football game, and Steve still leads me by a few games in our little wager. We also talked some Major League Baseball and National Hockey League news as well!
