I had a lot of fun today on the Outdoor Show, and we’re still getting some great reports from deer hunters all throughout the U.P.! Today’s Outlaw Cut we heard was a request from Larry out a deer camp for Hank Williams Jr.’s “Family Tradition”, and Ricky Skaggs was our 4 o’clock bluegrass artist with an awesome remake of the song “Cat’s in the Cradle”!

I welcomed a brand new guest to the show for the first of today’s Outdoor Reports, MDNR Wildlife Biologist from the Cusino State Wildlife Research Area, Cody Norton spoke with me about the deer that he’s seen come through the Shingleton, MI check station. He also talked with me about his observations as to the health and size of the deer herd this year!

My second of today’s Outdoor Reports was with Steve Koski from Indian Country Sports out of L’Anse, MI. He told us all about the deer that he’s seen at his shop, and he commented on how it seems that this year the bucks that have been harvested are bigger than in recent years. We also discussed some predator hunting and fishing as well!
For today’s Big Boy Sports Recap, Steve Whelan and I talked first about the Detroit Red Wings season so far and the rest of the NHL. Then we moved onto some news for the MLB, and we wrapped-up todays report talking about the changes to the Lions staff and the rest of the NFL.
