I sure had a lot of fun on today’s Outdoor Show, and we had a chance to listen to some amazing country and bluegrass music, only on 103-FXD, and our Outlaw Cut for today was a great tune from Johnny Cash called “Hey, Porter”! The Outdoor Reports for today continued to focus the deer hunting season, as hunters have been experiencing better hunting conditions than in recent years.
I had a very special guest for my first Outdoor Report of the day, 13-year old Carter Tryan joined me on the phone to talk about the huge 9-point (143 green score) deer that he harvested early in November in Cornell, MI, which is located in Delta County, on his grandfather’s land with a crossbow. He told us all about the conditions for that day and how he was able to harvest such a huge deer! See more pics of the deer in the gallery below!

For the second of my Outdoor Reports for today, Tom from Hillside in Munising joined me in the studio to give us his reports for deer hunters in the Munising, MI area. It seems that hunters in the around Munising have been focusing heavily on baiting, as he told us how it was difficult to find some types of deer bait. He also told us about the big deer that he’s heard being taken by his customers. Then, he moved on to give us his opinions as to why the deer population has been suffering as of late.
To wrap up the day, Steve Whelan and I had a lot of news to discuss on the Big Boy Sports Recap. Of course, we had a ton to talk about with this past weekend’s NFL games, and Steve was on his high horse because he’s now five games up on me for our bet (only because I picked the Lions to lose)! Then we moved on to talk about the Spartans, Wolverines, and Badgers, and we wrapped up the day talking about the Detroit Red Wings latest news.
