Gwinn, Michigan– 01/19/16– The Gwinn ModelTowner Boys basketball stayed in Gwinn tonight to face the Gladstone Braves. This was a fast-paced, spirited game between these two teams and they both came to play! Mike and Justin brought you all of the in-game action on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9. The first half of the game was pretty quick and intense. The ModelTowners were leading the Braves for a short time in the first quarter but for the rest of the first half, stayed behind them just by a few points. 10-13 was the score at the end of the first quarter with the Gladstone Braves leading our Gwinn ModelTowners. 18-21 was the score at halftime with the Braves still in the lead.
The second half of the game slowed down a little bit with the scoring for the ModelTowners but they still brought the heat! It was a real head to head battle between the Braves and ModelTowners and they looked really good playing that game. Austin Forbes, ModelTowner, stepped up and made a basket to break the scoring silence for Gwinn. Reese Caster, Brave, made an amazing three pointer from the other end of the court at the end of the second quarter to make the score 20-37 with the Braves leading the ModelTowners. The fourth quarter was filled with a lot of free throws by the Braves. It was a very good game overall. 27-56 was the final score of the game with our ModelTowners taking a loss to the Gladstone Braves. It was a loss in score but a win in effort.
