Superior Central, Michigan– 01/22/16– Our Gwinn ModelTowner ladies traveled to Superior Central to take on the Cougars. It was a great game and there was a lot of cheering from the crowds! Both teams played well but the ModelTowner ladies came for a win. Mike and Justin brought you all of the action on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9. The first half of the game went great for the ModelTowners. They played great offense and had an unbreakable defense. The ModelTowners won the tip off with Kia Evans and Tori Lauren scored for the ModelTowners almost instantly. 8-0 was the score at the end of the first quarter. Nichole Usher, ModelTowner, scored two more points in the second quarter as she ran fast right down the lane and layed it up and in! The coach was getting a little upset that the ModelTowners weren’t pressing as much as they could have been. Kia Evans got a point for the ModelTowners at the end of two making the score 22-7 at halftime with the ModelTowners leading the Cougars.
The girls were all playing good basketball with a nice even playing spread. It sounded like a really great game to watch! The game slowed down a little bit for the ModelTowners in the second half. Tori Lauren, even under foul trouble, kept on making hoops. 28-15 was the score at the end of three with the Cougars trailing our ModelTowner Girls. The free throws did help out our team towards the end of the game when the Cougars started to squeeze in for points. Kia Evans scored the last two points of the game, for Gwinn, making the final score 40-29! Great job to the ModelTowner Ladies!
