Marquette, MI – December 8, 2016 – Bill and Joe from Great Lakes Radio were out in Christmas tonight to bring you the story live from Kewadin Casino for the the Kewadin Casinos Tree Lighting Ceremony. The entire casino was buzzing during the event with a great turn out for the night! People from all over the Upper Peninsula came out to this family-friendly event.
The local fire department joined us onsite at 6 PM to help put the last touches on the tree. The department brought out the ladder and placed the star on the tree before lighting her up. Everyone gathered around with hand warmers and cameras ready to snap a shot of the gorgeous tree. Once lit, a warm glow filled the air and it dazzled against the snow. With this being the Casino’s first ever tree lighting ceremony, they sure went big! The tree on site rivals the size of the State Capitol building’s tree down in Lansing!
Inside there was an an assortment of refreshments and festive foods. Free hot cocoa and cider warmed the visitors with venison chili on the menu for a nice warm meal! It was a great event to kick off the holiday season. The Casino had specials running all night. Joe meet up with Jason Smith the Events Manager for Kedawin Christmas Casino who told us more about what was going on at the Casino.
