Ishpeming, Michigan – March 28th, 2017 – Older homes have a lot of history. Some history you want to uncover, and some you don’t. In the case of a recent discovery in my home.. let’s just say I was very happy to discover this hidden gem.
I’m starting to compile a list of “To Do’s” around my home for the summer. From painting the interior and exterior to replacing the 1976 retro carpet in my living room. I have a list that won’t stop growing. The other week I decided to tear up some of my retro carpet and seek what’s hiding under it. Beautiful hardwood floors from the 1940’s! Personally, I love the look of hardwood floors. They add so much character to a home. They’re pretty beat and have seen better days.
I’m planning on stripping all the old finish off of them. I’ll need to rent an electric floor sander to begin this daunting project. I do have my work cut out. But, I’m determined to make it happen. I want to bring this wooden floor back to life! I wonder when’s the last time it seen the light of day?
