Marquette, MI – July 26, 2017 – 7 decades is a long time. Think about what the world was like 70 years ago. The Cold War was in its first year. The first ever Tony Awards were held. Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play Major League Baseball. The Roswell UFO incident occurred. All of this happened in 1947.
1947 is also the year that my father was born.
This past Sunday, July 23rd, my dad turned 70 years old. 7 decades spent on Earth. Watching and experiencing everyday life evolve over the time period. 70 years is a long time. To turn 70 is a milestone. A milestone calls for a celebration. A celebration of a milestone calls for the good stuff.
So on Sunday we popped open a bottle of Vintage 2006 Dom Perignon champagne that my sister brought home. We toasted, drank, and watched the finish to the British Open. It was a great Sunday (also the Dom was very tasty).
