A long-time Upper Michigan broadcaster, musician and community supporter has passed away. Elmer Aho, host of American Country Gold on 103 WFXD, died Sunday at the age of 90 following a brief illness. Aho was surrounded by his family at his home in Gwinn the time of his death. He was the host of the American Country Gold radio show on Saturday nights for several decades. The show features classic country music as well as Aho’s home-spun stories and listener requests. His family is asking for privacy at this time of loss. 103.3 WFXD will continue American Country Gold by airing previously recorded episodes.
