Marquette – 02/02/12 – Join award winning singer/songwriter and author, Bill Harley for a chance to meet him as a writer of children’s books on Saturday, February 11 at 3:00 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room. Harley will give a short talk about his books and be available for an autograph session. Book related activity stations will be set up for families to enjoy together as well as a sale and signing opportunity following the presentation.
Harley’s trademark wit and wisdom can also be found in his picture books and novels for children. His first novel, The Amazing Flight of Darius Frobisher was chosen by Bank Street School of Education as one of the best children’s books of the year and his second novel, Night of the Spadefoot Toads was awarded the Green Earth Book Award as best environmental book of the year in the children’s fiction category. His picture books, based on his songs, stories and poems also stand out as ‘pick of the list’ from ABA and a Storytelling Award Winner. An advocate for children and educators, Bill is currently at work on a book about the culture of schools.
Bill Harley is the two-time Grammy winning singer-songwriter, author and storyteller who is considered by fans and peers alike to be one of the best storytellers in the country. A regular commentator on National Public Radio’s (NPR) All Things Considered, Harley has received multiple Parent’s Choice awards and critical accolades for his work.
