Independence Day Festivities in Ishpeming were Booming!

Ishpeming, MIJuly 4, 2016 — The Fourth of July parade in Ishpeming was something to see. The day was already sunny and warm by the time it was time to line up our vehicles to enter! This year, Sunny.fm, 103FXD and WRUP were well represented for Great Lakes Radio. Todd Noordyk, our leader here at Great Lakes Radio, was heading up our vehicles with Adam Carpenter from the Outdoor Show. They were riding in style in a Kawasaki Mule from Zambon’s in Marquette with  Miss Pre-Teen Great Lakes State and Miss Pre-Teen Upper Midwest in tow in the boat passing out candy with smiles and waves.

Lane Dawson was driving the 103 FXD truck with the wonderful Nancy Longtine as his co-pilot. Premium Pole Buildings and Storage Sheds was behind them with our newest giveaway prize, the Steamin’ Summer Sauna, being pulled by the Gravedoni’s.

Bill Tibor was following them in the WRUP van with Mike and Walt from the Sunny Morning Show completing our line-up.

There was a good showing of floats and groups on this gorgeous Independence Day. I, personally, was happy to see all of the veterans well represented. Another parade favorite of mine was Stampede Western Wear with their western-themed float and dogs following. They were also passing out bags of dog treats for all of the four-legged parade goers!

It’s a wonderful sunny day for celebrating The United States of America’s independence. Let us know how you celebrated your holiday or any of your favorite attractions from the parade!
