Marquette, MI – December 12, 2017 – The holiday spirit was in the air tonight at Kewadin Casino in Christmas for the 2nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The casino was packed all day with drawings and specials starting at 10am, but really came alive when the local fire department rolled up to start the ceremony.
Despite the large snow storm that blew through today, people from all over the Upper Peninsula joined us at Kewadin Christmas eager to bring some more Holiday Cheer to the little town of Christmas. As the fire department put the final touches on the tree, everyone gathered around with hand warmers and cameras ready to snap a shot once the tree was lit. Last year the tree rivaled the size of the State Capitol building’s tree down in Lansing! This year’s tree was just as big with beautiful warm sparkling lights and a great looking star on top.
Moving inside to get out of the cold, guests enjoyed an assortment of refreshments and festive foods. Free hot cocoa and Christmas cookies were set out for the visitors with chili on the menu for a nice warm meal! With casino credit drawings running all day, the cash prize drawings start at 9pm continuing until 11pm tonight! Today was a great event to kick off the holiday season with fun activities for all ages. Great Lakes Radio Representative Joe met up with Scott Britton, the Marketing Manager from Kedawin Christmas Casino, who told us more about what was going on at the Casino.
