Marquette, MI – September 27, 2018 – The rain held off as we all gathered at River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center for our Snowdog and Cart Giveaway party! With thousands of entries submitted, 374 people were picked at random to join us for some giveaway party fun on a gloomy day. When it came time to give it away, our all-season fun machine from Four Seasons Small Engine of Escanaba went home with Elizabeth Hollowell from Negaunee.
As the night began the doors opened at 6:30 pm and guests flooded in. Nancy and Amy handed out finalist and door prize tickets as attendees traded in their party invites, getting everyone into the banquet room as quickly as possible. Great Lakes Radio’s Mike Plourde and Adam Carpenter were the masters of ceremonies and welcomed everyone to the party. After thanking our amazing giveaway sponsors and River Rock Lanes, it was time to give some stuff away!
Changing things up this time, 103.3 WFXD’s Eric Scott immediately released the tables to head over to the bar area to fill those hungry bellies. The feast, catered by Mama Russo’s, included their delicious homemade salads, fresh lasagna, and Cudighi!
Each quarter we receive door prizes from local businesses to help make our parties even better. This time we handed out gifts like ball caps from Pomp’s Tire and Oil Change Certificates from Quality Car Care Center. Also returning as a fan favorite for the second party in a row, the crowd loved the Drink Goody Bags! Packed full of drink tokens from local bars, we gave away ten sets of free drinks to guests. A $50 U.P. Pendant from Wood Jewelers, an awesome knit chook from Wooden Nickel and Northern Michigan Waterfall Coasters from local Saddleback Photography were among the assortment of door prizes.
After exhausting door prizes, it was time to move onto selecting our finalists. Great Lakes Radio’s fearless leader, Todd Noordyk, took over the mic to thank everyone for coming out and then invited Four Seasons Small Engine’s Tracy Frossard to join him to call the finalists. Nancy brought over the bucket full of finalist tickets get down to picking our seven lucky finalists. One ticket at a time, Tracy called off ticket numbers and each person rose from the crowd to pick their station envelope, hoping it contained the grand prize! With one finalist left to draw, Todd paused for a moment to reveal our next giveaway prize: a Drive 2 Golf Cart from Meyer Yamaha of West Ishpeming. The luxury cart will bring some style to your game on the green or act as the perfect way to get around home and camp. Check out the official contest page for details and contest rules.
Following the big reveal, the crowd gave Tracy a big drum roll as she pulled the final ticket of the night. The last finalist came up to the front and picked the remaining envelope before lining up with the other possible winners. Opening the envelopes all at once, the finalists pulled out their prize sheets, and Elizabeth Hollowell from Negaunee was left holding the winning package. Jumping with excitement Elizabeth said the Snowdog will be “just another way to go snowmobiling”. She also does some fishing and plans to use the Snowdog on the lake!
While there are can only be one major winner, none of our finalists went home empty-handed. Ethan Weinkauf and Ann Christesen left with the Swick Home Services Gold Start Certificates.
