Marquette, MI  –  February 20, 2020  –  This month the Winter Farm Market filled the Westwood Mall with vendors from 12-8pm making it the place to find handmade gifts or pick up a snack from locally sourced food vendors all day long!

Leanne Hatfield from Seeds and Spores was there with selling beef, pasture raised pork, eggs and herbs. DJ Heredia from Earthborn Holistic Pet Food was handing out free sample bags for dogs while Davin Makela and Hans Andel from Davin’s Chocolates & DaH Pretzel Guys covered the human treats with freshmade chocolates, caramels, candied maple bacon and pretzels! Huron Mountain Lapidary was there to fill the jewelry niche. Derek Wanhatalo from Huron Mountain creates beautiful items like pedants, necklaces and money clips, and his father, Curt, displayed his own craft at the table with some custom leather work! Tastefully Simple was well represented tonight two independent cunsultants, Darlene Kyto and Marcy Johnson. Between the two, there was a spread of spices, jams, and bread mixes. Dave Poppe of UP Scenery & Wildlife had three tables with a select of quality knives, wallets, and some framed local photographs. With the wintery road conditions, visitors could stop to see Marcia Meldrum, a representative from AAA of Michigan. The Auto Club Group had free maps and books, plus key chains, candy and information to learn more about AAA. Shari’s Winter Treasures attending today as well with her display of themed Gnomes. Shari had noms perfect for Easter or St. Patrick’s Day.

Music in the Mall started up at it’s usual time of 5pm with several performances going on throughout Westwood Mall. Near Bath and Body Works local singer song writer Troy Graham sang some originals and covers. John Kibit was back on the piano tonight near Kohl’s for more classical relaxing music and down at The STAGE, rock band, Reverend was jammin out! Reverend is a four piece band with Ben Wilson on drums and vocals, Gene Uuro on guitar and vocals, Christopher Walimaki playing bass guitar and Chad M. Mager as lead Singer. Also new this month, Janna and her students from New Attitudes Dance Studio where at the mall to give two dance demos. The kids performed once down by The Stage at 5:30pm and a second time near Trade Home Shoes at 6:30pm. Dancers included over 30 youth of all ages and experience levels!

If you didn’t make it out for our 4th Winter Farm Market and Music in the Mall, be sure to attend round five next month! Vendors and musicians will be back at the mall Thursday, March 29th. It’ll be the perfect chance to pick up some goodies to through in those Easter baskets!
