Gwinn ModelTowner Boys basketball was defeated by the Ishpeming Hematites in Districts on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9. 03/09/16
Ishpeming, Michigan– 03/09/16– It is District time for the Boys basketball! Our Gwinn ModelTowner Guys traveled to Westwood High School this Wednesday night to take on the Ishpeming Hematites in hopes of winning this District game. Mike and Justin brought you all of the action on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9. Also, the game was streamed LIVE at GoToGwinn.com.
The first half of the game started off with our Gwinn ModelTowner Reed Weidenhoefer getting the first few points! Austin Forbes also got a three pointer for Gwinn in the first quarter. 5-14 was the score at the end of one with the Hematites in the lead. Carter Ghiringhelli had a good shot up and in in the second quarter for Gwinn. Coulick, for Gwinn, also scored in that quarter. 15-34 was the score at halftime with the ModelTowners trailing Ishpeming.
The second half of the game started to lean more in favor of the Ishpeming Hematites. Desi Boogrin had his first few points of the game for Gwinn in the third quarter, followed by Theo Reddlan with his basket. 24-42 was the score at the end of three with the ModelTowners trailing. Reed Weidenhoefer started off the fourth quarter with a nice two pointer for Gwinn. Tucker Taylor was playing some good defense in the fourth quarter. Theo Reddlan put the ball up and in after Austin Forbes passed him the ball without looking! Gwinn was trailing by 15 at one point in the fourth quarter and it looked like they were going to give the Hematites some challenge.
