01/09/2015 Gwinn, Michigan– The Gwinn ModelTowner Boys basketball took on the Norway Knights tonight at the Gwinn court. It was a really physical, fast paced game as Gordy had said. The two coaches both anticipated a lot of pressure by Gwinn this game and they did not disappoint but the Knights were fighting right on back with some good defense. The Gwinn Modeltowners and the Norway Knights both had great defense this game and there was a lot of intensity between the two teams. It was quite a game. It was also parents night- good job parents for raising such outstanding children! The first quarter started off with the Gwinn ModelTowners really turning up the heat. The plays were so fast paced that the fans were having a blast. The Knights had a little bit of a collision problem for a part of this quarter but over all they played great and so did the ModelTowners. ModelTowners missed some free throws that could have brought up their score to compete with the Knights. All in all, the ModelTowners weren’t too far behind the Knights but the Knights still took the lead with a score of 19-15. The coach must have said something to the ModelTowner to pump them up during half time because they turned up the intensity man to man just like they started the game. The ModelTowners got right back into the swing of things and took the lead back from the Knights this quarter. The third quarter ended with a score 33-31 with the Knights trailing by 2. The fourth quarter started off with the Knights tieing the game up with a score of 33-33. The missed free throws in the beginning of the game really started to hurt the Gwinn ModelTowners at this point in the quarter as the Knights took the lead. For awhile it looked as if the ModelTowners were going to walk away tonight without the win but they turned up their game and started to rake in the points. Theo Reddlin made his first free throw shot of the game tonight and tied the game back to 39-39. The ModelTowners took over from there and held the lead. The final score for this game was 43-41 and the player with the most points tonight for the ModelTowners was Justin Beaucamp with 13 points!
