Negaunee, Michigan – January 2, 2014 – January is National Blood Donor Month and the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center Mobile Unit will be at the SIR Federal Credit Union in Negaunee on January 10th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Supply Levels Are Low – According to the American Red Cross, the rush of the holidays, icy roads and the flu keep people from donating blood during this time of the year. As a result, blood is in short supply across the country. The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center says our community is in CRITICAL NEED of all blood types except AB.
Donating Blood Saves Lives – When you donate just one pint of blood (an average adult has 10-12 pints), you can help save up to three lives. The blood you donate stays in the Upper Peninsula so you could be helping your friends, neighbors or family.
Schedule Your Appointment – Call Sam Barabe at 475-4149 today to schedule your donation on January 10th at SIR Federal Credit Union in Negaunee.
If you can’t make it next Friday, the Blood Center welcomes walk-ins or you can call them at 225-6140.
