These New Debit Cards Sure Look Different!

The new cards (on the left) just don’t have the same feel as the old ones (right). After a little research though, I know my my information is still just as safe thanks to Honor Credit Union.

Marquette, Michigan  –  October 20, 2014  –  In this ever-changing world where we face new threats to our security every day, I’m thankful that I’m a member of the Honor Credit Union. They take serious measures to keep my financial information safe.

At first blush, I disliked the new burgundy card. I missed the tactile reassurance of Ol’ Blue and the old raised numbers. I felt like it had more legitimacy, more authority. The new ones just feel like a Younkers gift card and didn’t inspire any real confidence of security. Besides, I just like the blue ones better and change makes me feel uncomfortable.

I learned a lot about my new Honor debit cards at the Honor Credit Union website. Honor protects my card while still keeping it easy for me to use. With over 35,000 ATMs nationwide, I’ll always be able to find one to use when I need access to my cash. To maximize my security, Honor Credit Union offers features like Text Fraud Alerts and MasterCard SecureCode.

Go to Honor Credit Union’s website or call them today to find out more about available features for your debit card!

With Text Fraud Alerts, I can receive an automated call or text message if my card is denied at a point of sale due to a fraud alert. It gives me the chance to respond if I’m the one trying to use my debit card, and it helps keep my sensitive financial information out of the bad guys’ hands!

I also use MasterCard SecureCode to keep my online transactions safe. SecureCode adds an extra layer of protection for online purchases. Whenever I pay online with my Honor MasterCard, a box pops up asking for my personal SecureCode (my own personal number for online transactions). If someone tries to use my card online without my permission, Honor Credit Union won’t approve the transaction without my very own personal code. Now THAT’S protection!

Best of all, if I ever have any questions, I can stop by or help is only a phone call away. You can get answers from the friendly and knowledgeable Michigan staff that mans the call center line, but you’d better know your security questions, the last 4 of your social security number and be calling from the primary phone number you have listed on your account. Honor Credit Union takes the security of their members VERY seriously! (…And thanks, I think!)

All of these changes may seem cumbersome, but they are really necessary because ISIS and the criminals out there always want to steal our identities and our money.  It seems like they always keep up with the latest technology, but Honor Credit Union is here to make your life easier by staying one step ahead of the bad guys!
