Marquette, MI – May 06, 2016 – Did you know Michigan and the DNR has an entire weekend dedicated to a weekend of free fishing? Well actually; there are two weekends! Two days, twice a year, families and friends can enjoy one of Michigan’s premiere outdoor activities, fishing, for FREE.
The two days in summer are fast approaching, schedule for June 11 & 12. Make sure to grab your fishing pole and head out to the lake! Panfish, walleye, northern pike, bass, trout and salmon are all popular species to target during the open water season.
If you’re new to fishing, this weekend is a great time to give it a try! During this two days, all fishing license fees will be waived. Residents and out-of-state visitors alike can enjoy fishing for all species of fish. The DNR even offers “how-to” information (including videos) and weekly fishing reports online.
