
Marquette, MI – May 14, 2018 – If you haven’t been to Iron Bay Restaurant and Drinkery on Washington and Lakeshore in Marquette yet, the time to do so is coming! Next week the local restaurant is celebrating it’s 1-year anniversary in Marquette and they aren’t holding anything back. With special promotions throughout the week, you’ll want to check out the schedule of events and see what’s happening!
Monday
Join Great Lakes Radio live from Iron Bay for the first day of anniversary week! We’ll be at the Restaurant reporting live about what is going on and maybe even giving some stuff away!
- Kurt and Kim will be jamming out to some classic tunes from 6-9pm
- Mini Stumpfoll with Zach Ott & John Davey will play in the Tap Room from 6-9pm
Tuesday
Learn about this history of beer making:
- Dr. Russel Magnaghi talks about the history of beer in the Upper Peninsula at 3pm
- He will present the story while you enjoy a good beer in the Tap Room
- At 7pm enjoy a showing on the U.P. Classic, “Anatomy of a Murder” in the Tap Room
Wednesday

Lots of taste testings and learning experiences going on:
- Explore the Marquette Harbor in the 1800 with a 3D trip by Jack Deo at 3pm in the Tap Room
- Wine tasting in the restaurant from 5-7pm
- 6 different wines & appetizers
- $30 each with only 50 available
- Beer tasting in the tap room from 7-9pm
- 8 different beers
- No tickets needed, just sign up for a 30 minute slot at $5 per person
- Seats up to 10 people at a time
Thursday
The Mackinac Bridge, Pie, Beer and Singing:
- Catch a presentation from Mackinac Bridge Authority Chief Executive Officer Bob Sweeney at 3pm in the Tap Room
- Later enjoy a Pie & Beer pairing with Peace Pie Company & Ishpeming’s Cognition Brewery
- Only 20 tickets available
- In the restaurant, listen to Da Upper Yoopers Barbershop Chorus from 6-9pm
Friday
Afternoon Scavenger Hunt:
- Iron Bay Has partnered with The Marquette Regional History Center to do a Scavenger Hunt
- Visit Various historical locations throughtout Marquette and gather points
- Groups are limited to 8 people or less per team
- The winning group will receive prizes from local businesses
- Donckers, Panara, Down Wind Sports, Yooper Shirts, Marquette Regional History Center, Getz’s, Frosberg, UP Supply Co., and Iron Bay
- Registration starts at 10am and the cost is $5 per person
Saturday
Wrapping things up with a Classic Sock Hop:
- 2-8pm in the restaurant with Gitche Gumee Records
- 2-5pm, hits from 1955-1960
- 5-8pm, hits from 1960-1965
- $0.25 bottles of Coca Cola
- Dancing, Contests, Costume Contests and more
