The Outdoor Show today was packed with awesome music and special guests! As always, I got a chance to play some great country and bluegrass music, and today’s Outlaw Cut was an excellent tune from Trent Reznor performed by Johnny Cash called “Hurt”.
My first guest for today’s Outdoor Reports was Steve Koski from Indian Country Sports out of L’Anse, MI. He had a ton of great information for us today, and we mainly talked about the situation of the deer rut in Steve’s area on the Western end of the U.P. Also, we talked some grouse hunting and we even talked a little salmon fishing!
My second guest on today’s Outdoor Show was acclaimed author and hunter Gale Bott from Marquette County. He told us all about his book, titled “Budget Bucks in Your Lap. He let us know how his book can help hunters see and harvest more deer this season! He also discussed with me his tactics for harvesting deer during the rut.
I had a special guest interview on today’s show as well! I caught-up with Steve Carlson of the famed movie “Slapshot”. He was in Marquette for his jersey being retired by his former team, the Marquette Iron Rangers. The Rangers have just re-started their franchise, and Steve was in the studio to tell us all about the special event and the movie “Slapshot”!
On today’s Big Boy Sports Recap, Steve W. and I talked about a bunch of different sports topics. We got into the Detroit Red Wings’ latest wins, and we also discussed some Detroit Lions and Packers news as well. Finally, we chatted about some college football and the corresponding power rankings.
We hope you had a great time tuning-in to today’s Adam Carpenter’s Outdoor Show! Tune in tomorrow for another great day of hunting, fishing, and sports in the UP and Michigan!
