I sure had a lot of fun bringing you all the best country and bluegrass music today, only on 103-FXD! It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and there’s a lot to be thankful for! Our Outlaw Cut for today was the song “Big Iron” from the one and only Marty Robbins, and we heard some awesome alternative country on today’s show as well!
My first Outdoor Report for today was with Michigan DNR Wildlife Biologist Brian Roell, and he was out at the Marquette deer check station to give us his reports the deer that he has seen come through his check station. He had some great information for us, and he let us know how the deer that have been harvested this year seem to be consistently older than in years past and how that might skew the deer harvests in the coming years.
I’ve had a lot of requests to talk with Steve Koski from Indian Country Sports, which is located in L’Anse, MI. He gave us his deer harvest reports for the West end of the U.P., and he has seen what most of the other deer check stations in the U.P. have seen with fewer deer harvested. However, the deer that have been harvested seem to be bigger and older than in past years. We also talked about the predator situation and how it has effected the deer population.
For today’s Big Boy Sports Recap, Steve Whelan and I had a ton of fun talking about the upcoming NFL games tomorrow and this weekend. Steve leads me in our bet by five games, but I’m going to do my best to make up some ground this week. We then moved on to talk some Detroit Red Wings and Tigers news, and we wrapped up talking about the college football power rankings.
We hope you had a great time tuning-in to today’s Adam Carpenter’s Outdoor Show! Tune in tomorrow for another great day of hunting, fishing, and sports in the UP and Michigan!
