I sure had a lot of fun on today’s show, and even though the weather wasn’t great, there are still plenty of opportunities to get out there and do some hunting and fishing! I got a chance to play some awesome country and bluegrass for you, and my Outlaw Cut of the day was from Kris Kristofferson with his song “The Silver Tongued Devil and I”.
My first Outdoor Report for today was with the one and only Chris from Caddis Shack Guide Service, which is located in Escanaba, MI. He had a lot of great information for us, and the rivers are finally seeing good numbers of browns and steelhead. All the precipitation that we’ve been getting has helped raise the water levels in the rivers, and fish have been moving! Fishing conditions are excellent right now, and Chris let us know how you can catch more fish this season!
I welcomed back to the show a very special guest for the second of today’s Outdoor Reports. I had a chance to catch up with MDNR Wildlife Biologist John DePuy out at the Baraga deer check station. He told us all about the results for this year’s gun deer season, and it seems that deer numbers, like all throughout the U.P., are down from the previous years.

For the day’s Big Boy Sports Recap, Steve and I had a ton to talk about with last night’s Monday Night Football game. The Ravens took down the Browns in a memorable, if not comical, display of football action. We then moved on to talk about the Detroit Red Wings rookie sensation facing-off against the Buffalo Sabres’ rookie Jack Eichel and a few other topics as well!
