Thanksgiving dinner menu is loaded with your favorite family delights from hor d’oeuvres to snacks to turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like stuffing with their turkey but there are two different ways to go about this side dish.
I always was under the impression that stuffing and dressing are the same thing – well, they are, in one sense. The recipe ingredients are the same, what differs is how it is cooked. Stuffing is placed inside the turkey’s cavity and cooked at the same time. Dressing is placed in a baking dish and baked separately.
As you can see from the picture map from Butterball’s website, personal preference will depend on where you grew up in the United States. Myself, I think you would waste less stuffing if you baked it in a dish; all that goodness getting stick between the turkey ribs! You can’t get it all out!
