The 1 p.m. showing of “American Sniper” at Thomas Theater Saturday was probably one-half full but my wife and I arrived 45 minutes early to get the seats we wanted for viewing this movie. Eastwood did an outstanding job developing this movies’ characters, especially Brantley Cooper who portrayed Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

Eastwood presents aspects that build an emotional film: military comradery and humor, training experiences, development of the Kyles’ marital relationship; veteran recovery and adjustment to civilian life, unit cohesion.
This movie shouldn’t be missed on the big screen. See it then add this film to your movie collection when it’s released on DVD.
