A purchase agreement between two developers on Friday, October 3rd was signed which saved Studio A from certain demolition. Tennessee-based developer, AMT Trust LLC, part of the Americana Music Triangle project purchased the building from Bravo Development for $5.6 million.
Americana Music Triangle is the first ever comprehensive telling of music’s greatest story: the birth and
rise of nine distinct genres of music from one tiny, mystical slice of the globe. Muscle Shoals, Tina Turner’s birthplace, Crockett Theater and others are numerous historical music sites preserved through the help of AMT.
The sale agreement gives Mr. Preston’s newly formed trust time to evaluate the building and create a preservation plan. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
RCA Studio A, a 49-year-old recording room that has hosted artists including Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and B. B. King.
