Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott escaped injury after the bus she was traveling on caught fire on Thursday morning.
Scott along with her husband and tour manager was on the bus heading to Dallas for this weekends’ ACM Awards when a tire in the rear of the bus started to generate a lot of heat resulting with a fire igniting.

Scott was sleeping in the rear of the bus at the time the fire started, however, the driver acted efficiently , stopping the bus and safely evacuating everyone on board.
After examining the damage, Scott’s bible, slightly charred, was the only item remaining in the lounge area. She states later, “ My faith is forever deepened because of today. I hope this story deepens yours.”
Fellow band members, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood were traveling separately at the time of the incident. It was reported this was not the usual bus Scott travels in.

This incident will not prevent the group from performing in this Sunday night’s ACM Awards. Lady Antebellum are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year in the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards airing Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
