Marquette, Michigan – October 20th, 2016 – Call it what you want–chaos, confusion, or just plain combat fatigue! American Country Gold sets in at 7pm Saturday night with Elmer Aho on 103-FXD and WFXD.com. Each Saturday night by the time 9pm rolls around I’ve already played roughly 30 songs on my show. My working partner Eric will get the turntables all warmed up around 6:30pm and I will hand him the first record around 6:59pm… literally one minute before the show begins!
Last Saturday night I received over 200 phone calls between 6:30pm and Midnight during American Country Gold. It was complete chaos, but I always enjoy it. There’s nothing like hearing from loyal listeners all over the world that compliment my show.
When you do the math I play between 80-90 songs each Saturday night. By the time I put everything away and get all the records organized I usually leave the studio around 1am Sunday morning. Now you can understand why I call it organized chaos! Reach out to me this Saturday, October 22nd by calling me directly in the studio at 906-361-9393 or email elmer@wfxd.com. I know Eric keeps a close eye on my Great Lakes Radio Facebook page and passes along messages to me throughout the entire show.
