Marquette, Michigan – April 9th, 2016 – We remember Merle Haggard here on 103-FXD. Throughout the show tonight I put the spotlight on the TRUE outlaw of country music himself, Merle Haggard. I played Merle’s biggest tunes throughout the evening on American Country Gold on 103-FXD and WFXD.com. We lost Merle on Wednesday, his 79th birthday, at the age of 79. Merle had been hospitalized with pneumonia for several months. We will always remember Merle Haggard here on American Country Gold. Rest in peace, Merle Haggard.
Throughout the show on Saturday night on American Country Gold I heard from so many of you around the world! Jason from Marquette was (and is) the first person to always call me when I kick off my show every Saturday night! Jason just loves to hear “Sneaky Snake”… and I almost always honor that request for Jason in Marquette.
I was able to play a special dedication for the Keweenaw on Saturday night during my show. I know the fine folks that listen up in Calumet every Saturday night always appreciate a dedication sent out to them! As always, I thank you fine folks for listening to my show on 103-FXD and WFXD.com!
Make sure that you join me next Saturday, April 16th from 7pm to Midnight as I do it all over again and bring you American Country Gold ONLY on 103-FXD and WFXD.com. Reach me Saturday night OR during the week by calling 361-WFXD, that’s 361-9393 or email elmer@wfxd.com. American Country Gold on 103-FXD and WFXD.com!
