Enjoy Labor Day Activities in Ishpeming Today
Ishpeming, Michigan— The 23rd Annual Labor Day Festival with the theme “Vote Yes For Michigan Families” will be
held on Monday, September 3rd (today) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cliff’s Shaft Mining Museum and Lake Bancroft in Ishpeming.
The Festival will begin with a parade at 11 a.m. along Euclid Street, Main Street, Division Street and Lakeshore Drive. A picnic and rally will be held at the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum (Marquette Range Iron Mining Heritage Theme Park) and the Lake Bancroft Park on Lakeshore Drive and Euclid Streets.
Marq Tran will be providing transportation to Ishpeming from the JC Penney Mall parking lot in Marquette at 9 and 10 a.m., and from Lakeview School parking lot in Negaunee at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Shuttles will run on the hour from the Cliffs Shaft Museum to Lake Bancroft Park beginning at noon.
A picnic lunch will be available for $4 which includes a pasty or hot dog, dessert and pop. Tickets for adult beverages, pop and water will also be available.
The Picnic and Rally will include music by Fast Eddies Blues Band, speeches from elected officials and candidates, along with children’s activities. The Cliff Shaft volunteers will be providing free tours from noon to 2 p.m. at the museum.
