Marquette, MichiganOctober 21st, 2015 – No doubt the days are MUCH shorter than they were 3 months ago and there’s a chill in the air that wasn’t present just last month. On the flip side? We’re expected to have an El Nino winter! The last time the Upper Peninsula of Michigan felt an El Nino winter was in the 1990’s! So, with El Nino we’re going to experience a warmer and drier winter than what we’ve been dealing with the past several years. At least, that’s what the experts say…

Farmer’s Almanac is also predicting a drier and warmer winter. I say “Bring it on!” I’m definitely looking forward to a warmer (and drier) winter! Personally, from what I’ve been hearing from family and friends–they’re also looking forward to dodging the polar vortex this winter and enjoying less time indoors and more time outdoors!

We’ve been teased with a mild fall. Mother Nature wants to send the warmer and drier conditions to the north! It appears that my relatives in Texas could end up with a cooler and wetter winter due to El Nino. So, El Nino’s not necessarily good news for everyone. Either way, I say “Bring it on!” Let’s dodge the bullet on a cold and snowy winter! Give us what we want, El Nino.

Oh, and remember the time change is coming up on Sunday, November 1st! Time to fall back one hour. The days will REALLY feel short come November 1st…
