Ishpeming, Michigan – April 13th, 2016 – It all started nearly 20 years ago. I became obsessed with the radio, and turning the radio knob. I was only 12 years old. My love for radio started with this 1997 Emerson CD Shelf System. Every time I turned on the radio with my Emerson I was always fascinated by it. To this day I really don’t know why, but I do know that radio has been an obsession of mine for almost 20 years now.
This Emerson CD Shelf System was a Christmas present from Santa Claus back in 1997. When I awoke that Christmas morning I exclaimed “This is the BEST Christmas ever” and this was hiding underneath the Christmas tree. What a year it was! It really was the best Christmas ever. I wanted this Emerson more than anything in the world at that time.
When I moved into my home almost 6 months ago I knew something was missing. Where was my stereo from 19 years ago? It wasn’t in any boxes, and I couldn’t find it with anything else I hauled into my home. When I was visiting my folks on Sunday I asked them if they knew where it was. Apparently it was in the basement underneath a bunch of boxes. I was on a mission to find my CD Shelf Stereo System…. and that I did! There it was… where it all started in 1997. I hooked up the speakers, plugged it in, and she still works like a charm! I now have her set up in my kitchen close to my sink so I can listen when I’m washing dishes or having supper. Can you guess which station I’m listening to? :)
