Pioneer Days in Negaunee Were HOTT Over the Weekend

Negaunee, MichiganJuly 14th, 2015 – I know Pioneer Days in Negaunee wrapped up with a bang (literally) over the weekend on Saturday. I took part in the Parade that strolled through Downtown Negaunee on Saturday morning/early afternoon. I ended up driving our sister station’s van (98.3 & 92.7 WRUP) through the Parade. Luke drove the 103-FXD Truck through the Pioneer Days Parade and Mike Plourde drove the 101.9 Sunny.FM through the Parade.

Between the three Great Lakes Radio company vehicles — Joe, Nancy, Todd, Adam Carpenter, myself, Luke, and Mike Plourde were able to keep the crowd riled up! As a group we kept the kids happy with Tootsie Rolls being thrown from the vehicles. This was actually the very FIRST time I’d ever been a part of the Pioneer Days Parade in Negaunee and I’m definitely looking forward to next summer! The weather was beautiful; I rode my pedal bike on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail to meet my co-workers for the start of the Parade.

As I drove through Negaunee on Saturday night I was able to catch the Fireworks over Teal Lake. Spectators were lined up down U.S. 41 in Negaunee and EVEN were on top of their vehicles in lawn chairs watching the Fireworks from afar over Teal Lake. It was beautiful to see the Fireworks as I was driving into Negaunee on U.S. 41 from Marquette.
