Lake George, Michigan – July 3rd, 2015 – Last weekend I spent the weekend at my Uncle’s Cottage on Lake George in the Lower Peninsula (350 miles away). It was a VERY relaxing weekend filled with family, a few drinks, games, kayaking, and stuffing myself with delicious food! My brother and I headed down to visit my Uncle and Cousins whom we haven’t seen in quite some time. My Uncle has a Cottage on Lake George… my family and I have many memories over the years at Lake George with my extended family.
The ride down went by surprisingly fast! It was a nearly 7 hour drive to Lake George, Michigan. By the time my brother and I arrived it was late; we went to bed shortly after we arrived. The next day we caught up with our uncle and cousins. It was a mini family reunion! We went out to Ponderosa Steakhouse in Clare, Michigan. Clare is about a 15-20 minute drive from Lake George. We did some shopping and went back to the Cottage at Lake George.
The trip continued with good company and kayaking on Lake George. We even ended up taking down an older dock on the lake to make way for a new dock. We drove into Mount Pleasant and on our way back stopped at an AWESOME all-you-can-eat pizza buffet in Farwell, Michigan called “Buccilli’s Pizza” which was SO GOOD! I always have a habit of eating too much when it comes to all-you-can-eat buffets! The service was fantastic! Buccilli’s Pizza also has locations in Houghton Lake, Michigan and Clare, Michigan.
It was REALLY tough to head back to the U.P. after such a great time with my family in Lower Michigan. I wrapped up the trip with some (more) kayaking on Lake George. After spending several days in BEAUTIFUL weather it was hard to leave. I know I’ll definitely be making more memories next summer with another trip to Lake George, Michigan! I wouldn’t miss it for the world….
