Sunny and 87 in the Copper Country This Weekend

Hancock, MichiganJuly 21st, 2015 – I enjoyed every minute that I was in the Copper Country this past weekend…. good company…. good food…. better weather! I headed up to Hancock on Friday night to meet up with a friend of mine. We ended up having a Friday night Fish Fry in Downtown Houghton. After that we headed up M-26 for some Ice Cream. We capped off Friday night with a few drinks out on my buddies deck and some good company.

Saturday and Sunday we took a drive further north… or as I like to say “The last place on Earth!” My buddy and I took a hike near Copper Harbor at a Trail called the “North Beach Trail” which is located near Copper Harbor. Since the weather was Sunny and 87 it did make me exhausted rather quickly. We stopped at a burger joint in Hancock for lunch. For supper on Saturday we couldn’t resist the urge to grill out on the deck. We had over-easy hot dogs and suddenly salad… this was the life! We capped off Saturday night with a movie and a few cold ones.

On Sunday we decided to wrap up this mini vacation with a trip up to Lac La Belle (near Copper Harbor) and try out a Pub and Grill. The food was OUTSTANDING and the service couldn’t be beat. In addition we decided to hit a couple more trails around Copper Harbor and walk off our full stomachs with a 2 mile trek. What an awesome weekend! I tried to convince my buddy to purchase a fire pit for his backyard…. but couldn’t get him to give in to the request.

I wish every weekend was a repeat of this past weekend in the Copper Country. What did you do this past weekend? Did you make the most of the beautiful weather that we had??
