3/13/2015 Marquette, Michigan — You know how that old saying goes? You get what you pay for. Well, in this case, you get what you’ve worked hard for. The Great Lakes Radio staff has worked together as a team for the past 25 years. In those 25 years a lot of faces have come and gone. But the passion will always be there. The dedication will always be there. The team work will always be there. Great Lakes Radio is celebrating 25 years of success in 2015. What’s even better… our sister station, Sunny.FM (101.9 WKQS) has earned the distinctive title as 2014 Station of the Year by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters! Pretty neat, huh?

A LOT of hard work and dedication went into the Station of the Year Award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. What does this mean you might ask? It means we’ve done a much better job and have set a much higher standard in serving our communities better than any of our competitors. Station of the Year means we’ve done a better job of covering breaking news, reaching out to non-profit groups and organizations, being out at the community events and being LIVE, actively serving you during the Sunny Morning Show with Walt & Mike, and touching the pulse of events that matter to you in Marquette County. That commitment has never changed over the years, and will always be there.

Todd and Luke Noordyk were present at the Ceremony in Lansing, Michigan to pick up 10 awards for Sunny.FM that were presented on Wednesday, March 11th. It was announced that evening that Sunny.FM was named 2014 Station of the Year for Market #4 in Michigan. As Program Director I can say I’m truly honored by this recognition from the state of Michigan. I’m more than proud of my colleagues for their willingness to go above and beyond–as they continually do time and time again. Team work = works every time.
