Negaunee, Michigan – May 19th, 2015 – Here we are, just days away from the kick-off of summer. Yep, Memorial Day weekend is only a few days away. What greets us today? SNOW… oh no! Well, it’s not like we’re getting 3 feet. More like a minor dusting of snow. When I was on break today I drove between Ishpeming and Marquette and happened to run across some snow in Negaunee Township. Near Kelly’s Slide it was the worst. It was almost blizzard-like in Negaunee Township.
I did snap a few pictures as I was driving. Don’t try this at home, kids! As I always say on-the-air, don’t do as I do but do as I say. So, as you’re driving don’t be a fool like me and snap pictures. I also happened to notice that the temperature between Negaunee and Marquette was about 33 degrees. As I was listening to 103-FXD on my way down, I happened to hear the meteorologists say that the temperature was expected to climb into the upper 30’s today. Yippee!!
No matter how cold it’ll be Memorial Day weekend, I’m still going to make my drive down to the Southern U.P. and enjoy a nice vacation in Iron Mountain. I’m not going to let a little cold weather put a damper on my trip.
Look at these pictures and weep. Yep, think good thoughts…
