Welcome to L’Anse Township Park – 3 Miles North of L’Anse

L’Anse, MichiganAugust 9th, 2016 – The smell of a fresh campfire, the light breeze off of Lake Superior, and the wind howling through the trees were abundant over the weekend at L’Anse Township Park and Campground, 3 miles North of the Village of L’Anse in Baraga County. This was the FIRST time in history I’ve ever been to this Campground. What a gem!

My buddy from Hancock decided to haul his “A-Frame” trailer to the L’Anse Township Park and Campground. As a matter of fact, this was also the first time my friend ever stayed here. We decided to meet up here for s’mores and good conversation over the weekend. Little did I realize that we had company on Friday night. My buddy’s sister and her boyfriend drove up from Marquette as well. All four of us were impressed with the Campground and the beautiful scenery over Lake Superior.

Our campsite was directly over the lake! Nice choice! We spent most of the time here at the Campground itself. We had a HOT fire going most of the day Saturday. It’s not everyday you get to enjoy a campfire for nearly 24 hours straight…

We made the trek into the Village of L’Anse for some supper on Saturday night. Well worth the short drive for some delicious pizza around the campfire! The cheese was oozing and the sauce was dynamite! What could be better than this?

The campground is rather small–only about 30 sites–which is perfect if you enjoy the view of Lake Superior over a beautiful U.P. summer weekend. There were only about 9 other trailers in the entire park over the weekend. I loved this place! I will definitely be back in the future.
